"Bulgogi" is one of the well known and very popular Korean barbecue dishes, which have become an international sensation, whether you are grilling beef, pork chicken or fish. And it is loved by both children and adults. Here is a very simple recipe you can make in your own home without having to run to the Asian market.

Ingredients:

* Rib eye meat (1 lbs. sliced paper thin in 3-4 inch diameter, please ask your butcher to make think slices if you can not find it in the meat section already prepared) * Sake (1/2 cup) * Soy sauce (1/2 cup) * Sugar (2 tablespoons) * Sesame oil (2 tablespoons) * Garlic (4 cloves sliced) * Onion (1 medium sliced into 2 inches) * Carrot (sliced into 3 inch thread pieces) * Red Lettuce (2 heads) * Black Pepper

Directions:

1) Pepper the rib eye. To make marinade, in a small bowl, add sake, soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and garlic. Mix well, and place meat in the marinade. Put meat in marinade into refrigerator for few hours or over night is even better.

2) On hot grill lowering the fire, grill the meat on one side. Probably takes only a minute or two, because meat is so thin, it will grill very quickly on each side, so do not leave the grill at any time. After all meat is grilled, then put it aside on a plate.

3) Then grill the onions until they become golden brown but still has crunchiness to them.

4) To prepare to eat, take one lettuce, and place a piece of meat, some onion and carrots into the lettuce. Wrap lettuce around like a gift, and it is ready to be eaten.

Serve with rice on the side, or you can even place some of the rice into the lettuce with the meat and vegetables.
